Oil / conte paintings. Lots of mood/ raw emotion. Would it be possible to create something more like this with photography? in the dark room?? liquid light??

I like the interaction in the top photos and the sense of alone/ individuality in the bottom one... reminds me a bit of Arbus's work.. very "alienation" in my mind.

Holga?? Double exposures and some light leaks in some of her work. I like the lighting and different angles on face/ body etc.

Beautiful colour and mood,.. some double exposures etc.. Holga??

Terrible initial experiments with HDR. Downloaded some trial software and just having a play,.. though it puts grids and watermarks on everything which is annoying. Using multiple different exposures to deal with light and dark areas. I've seen a lot of interesting examples,.. though portraits tend to look very plasticy and odd.

Quote from Susan Sontag - On photography:

"Like a pair of binoculars with no right or wrong end, the camera makes exotic things near, intimate; familiar things small, abstract, strange, much further away. It offers, in one habit forming activity, both participation and alienation in our own lives and those of others- allowing us to participate, whilst confirming alienation."
